Spring 2009 Newsletter

May 5, 2009

Greetings !
It's almost Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mother's on my newsletter list. I hope wherever you are you receive a bouquet of fresh, local flowers.
We had a prolific winter and spring 2009. Thanks to our coldframes, we had anemones right after Christmas. They were
beautiful and we cut them until the first week of April.
New bulbs were added to our mix of spring cut flowers this year.
Daffodils were planted late, but still put on a beautiful show.
Tulips were very nice, but we only planted 1000 for a test and wished we would have had more. I like to use them with the bulbs still attached. The market customers enjoyed them as well. Our market customers are always excited about new flowers or new ways to use ones they are familiar with. Speaking of the market, it just keeps getting better. The crowds are slowly growing and we keep adding a few new vendors. Thank you
to all of our regular customers who buy flowers every market.
We really appreciate your business. All of the positive
feedback we get is so encouraging and it only reinforces our love for what we do. I really enjoy talking to my customers
and teaching people how to care for their flowers and make them last longer.
I am looking forward to a good market this coming Saturday
(May 9). And the weather is going to be nice and warm. If you are in town, please plan to come early and have an all-local
breakfast and then shop our many vendors. Straight-from-the farm
products can't be beat, and supporting local farmers is always a good thing to do!! And it is the only place in town you can get fresh, local flowers!!
And flowers are still an affordable LUXURY!
Take care,
Donna Mills
